Pride Moments

Hello All -
Just a quick post before I head out to a scorcher of an early DC summer day and photograph the operations of the Alexandria Seaport Foundation. I have been thinking about this day since February and I can't wait to get started!

Before that, a quick post about the DC Pride Parade that took place a couple weekends ago in my neighborhood. I shot a handful of rolls of Kodak UltraMax throughout the day, had them developed at my local shop and, here's the kicker, scanned them myself with my new Pacific Image PrimeFilmXA 35mm film scanner! It is quite an upgrade from my Epson V500 flatbed scanner and can even manage 35mm color negative film. A big step up from the flatbed, that worked for mildly ok B&W scans as I got my feet wet in film photography over the past couple years.

Anyway, I'm still working on proper color correction but these are miles ahead of where I would normally be, so I'm pumped. My pride day turned into a pride v Westboro Baptist Church day as a small group of WBC (representatives?? I don't even know what to call these people) seemed to follow my every move and tell everyone in attendance they were going to hell.

Thanks for the heads up. I love to be force-fed answers to questions I never asked.

One impressive aspect of this parade was the show of official force in support of the LGBT community. Local police joined the parade and the official defense flags marched in a pride parade for the first time ever in the USA. It was a proud moment for everyone in attendance.
