An Urban Riverwalk

Yards Park is an area on the verge of revitalization in South East DC and I was recently struck with how far it has come in recent years yet how much farther it needs to go in order to become a full fledged destination for area residents.

I was making my way towards The SideYards at Yards Park, a weekly (or bi-weekly?) collection of live local music and sideshow performers and I couldn't help but notice the state of the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail that connects Yards Park to the Nationals Baseball Stadium. So I did what comes naturally, and started taking a few pictures..

Some people still take advantage of its great views and waterfront drinking location, but I can't help but think that, for now, there must be some better waterfront options available.
