A few friends threw a punk show on the second floor of a local purveyor of burritos and the above descriptors were what I wanted my photos to portray. This show was a somewhat special occasion; Lisabi was coming into town from Brazil (they're touring the US) and DC had to them a good time.
Also, Blacksmith Tomahawk was scheduled to play their first set after a much too long of a hiatus so some special lighting was in order.

The venue, Casa Fiesta, is a small El Salvadorian restaurant located on the outskirts of town that for some reason allows the DC's DIY punk scene to host pretty hardcore (and loud!) shows in its small second floor. The entire building shakes and unknowing burrito customers sit on the first floor completely baffled about what might be happening upstairs.
The lighting sucks at Casa Fiesta (these shows are about the music; remember?) so I thought I would add a bit of my own. I jammed a very small diffuser onto my LumoPro LP180 and stuck it high and stage right. This harsh, single source of light combined with Tri-X pushed one stop to ISO800 created better results than I initially imagined. The grit and chaos of in your face punk leaps right out of the negatives.
